The First Post

36 Years old and goofing around in the street at the end of February 2009.

Old Man has had the old LIBtech dagger longboard since 2001 and skated it on occasion. Otherwise he hadn't skated since about 1989 (do the math: 20 YEARS!).

The Young Dude wanted to take out his scooter for a spin and The Wife told the Old Man that he must wear a helmet. He put on my bike helmet and out we went.

A couple weeks later the Young Dude and the Old Man checked out the local skatepark. They had made the street skating as nightly a habit as you can in the Northwest in February. The park looked scary but also looked like a lot of fun.

So Old Man bought a popsicle new-style board and tried his hand at ollies in the street. They got a little better and the Old Man started having more and more fun.

With the new board came some new kicks (styled very similar to a pair he wore in 1987), a new stylin' sweatshirt, and a Protec Helment so that Old Man didn't feel quite so old and unhip on his new adventure.
